Introduced in Switzerland (1934) by Correvon, Henri.

China / Bengale.  Earth Kind ™.  
Bloom:
Pale yellow, slowly change to shades of pink and eventually crimson..  In full bloom with its multi-colored flowers, it appears to be covered with butterflies..  Mild fragrance.  5 petals.  Average diameter 3".  Single (4-8 petals) bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  
Habit:
Bushy, lax, upright.  Glossy, dark green foliage.  5 leaflets.  
Height of 4' to 10' (120 to 305 cm).  Width of 3' to 6' (90 to 185 cm).
Growing:
USDA zone 7b through 10b.  Used for hedge.  Very vigorous.  shade tolerant.
