Origin:
Bred by Jean Béluze (1843) France.
Class:
Bourbon.  
Bloom:
White, light pink shading, darker outer petals.  Strong, tea fragrance.  Average diameter 5".  Large, very double, borne mostly solitary, in small clusters, cupped-to-flat, quartered bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  
Habit:
Bushy, thornless (or almost).  
Height of 2' to 6' (60 to 185 cm).  Width of up to 6' (up to 185 cm).
Growing:
USDA zone 5b through 10b.  Blooms tend to ball in wet weather.  Resist the urge to prune this rose too heavily -- it doesn't like it!.

Triploid
Notes:
On April 21, 1799, Josephine purchased the chateau at Malmaison.
