i thank Kim Rupert for this unusual wild species cross. It's Ralph Moore's Golden Angel X "californica nana". It's not on Ralph Moore's HMF Rose List so this seems the appropriate place to post photos of it and comment. Photo taken June 1, 2021 at Rose Woods in the Mayacmas Mtns. near Petrified Forest, California.

It's hard to believe Ralph Moore's hybrid of "californica nana"" grew from a hip of the miniature 'Golden Angel' since none of that rose is apparent in this cross. Certainly not the double yellow flower and even the leaves visible in 'Golden Angel' photos have a pointed tip, not rounded and simple serrate as in the hybrid. Instead the leaves resemble those of the Sierran Ground Rose in their shape and hairy tomentum on the lower surface but less so on the upper surface. Photographed at Rose Woods June 3, 2021.
