'Imperial Red' rose Description

Bloom:
Imperial red that shows a deep carmine pink tone in hot weather. The petal tips have a dark spot which gives a character to the bloom.. Mild to strong, old rose fragrance. 40 to 50 petals. Average diameter 5". Large, very full (41+ petals), borne mostly solitary, classic hybrid tea, exhibition, high-centered, spiral centers bloom form. Prolific, blooms in flushes throughout the season. Large, pointed, ovoid buds.
Habit:
Armed with thorns / prickles, bushy, compact, well-branched. Medium, semi-glossy, dark green, maroon highlights , wavy or ruffled foliage.
Height: 4' to 5' (120 to 150cm). Width: 3' to 5' (90 to 150cm).
Growing:
USDA zone 7b through 11. Can be used for beds and borders, container rose, cut flower or exhibition. Very vigorous. heat tolerant. prefers full sun. prefers warmer sites. Disease susceptibility: disease resistant, blackspot resistant, mildew resistant.
Breeder's notes:
The plant is very easy growing and branches very well and is ideal to be grown in pots & containers. The flowers are moderately scented and lasts more than 8-10 days in winter.
