This plant was my mothers and is more than 30 years old. In the spring of 2007 (after a very late April deep freeze) I thought I had lost it so I purchased a replacement plant. When I went to dig this one out I discovered there was some new growth on it so I potted it up and it survived. Never a very vigorous grower in the ground it has not been any more so in the pot. It gets to about 2 feet high and wide and blooms about 3 times a season. It blacks spots easily and will completely defoliate. The blooms are large, lovely and very, very fragrant. Because it is phototropic the blooms will often change color, even during the same day.
