We have huge stands of invasive R. multiflora all over the place in Central New York. Several years ago I was driving along through the countryside, and spotted a huge mass of the stuff amongst which was a cane bearing pink flowers. I made a mental note of it, and forgot about it until the following year. Next season, there it was again. I got my rustling tools together, and took a cutting. I now have a pink sport of R. multiflora tucked away along the side of the property. This was taken in my garden in Lee, NY on the afternoon of Thursday, june 16th, 2009.
