A picture of new foliage and the cane of this small bourbon. The leaves tend to turn to a semi matte or flat look as they age. The glossy look goes away. Taken August 22nd in Tacoma Wa, in my back yard, zone 8b. Rubbing the stem below the flower even after the bloom has been blown for weeks leaves a peppery scent on you fingers, notice the fine hairs.
