April 20, 2011. Planted approximately early 1990s. York and Lancaster is now a very large specimen (on the roof!). It was planted next to a small juniper which as it grew, took York and Lancaster UP with it. Otherwise York and Lancaster would have flopped over--my plant, IMHO, does not appear to have the ability to climb without a good deal of assistance. This is a unique circumstance which has allowed this specimen to flourish. Here is a bloom which is above roof level.
