11. Rosa CHUSAN. glabra, Juniperi fructu. This Rose I have received both from Chusan and China, but not with Fruit, till Dr Sloan was pleas'd to give it to me.
Linnaeus based his Rosa indica (1753) on this. Lindley thought it was his R. microcarpa (= R. cymosa Tratt.)
Herrmann (Dissertatio Inauguralis Botanico-Medica de Rosa,1762) confirmed that this specimen is Rosa indica L.
