Munstead Wood  rose photo courtesy of member StrawChicago Alkaline clay 5a

Spring flush of 2nd-year OWN-ROOT Munstead Wood, the growth is wide, but short. My own-root plant has better bush-shape & healthier than the grafted one at nearby rose park. As own-root it prefers alkaline clay, and broke out in mildew when the pH was acidic. I had to raise the pH (by topping with pH 8 clay), before it's healthy.
