June 21, 2022. One year old. Planted spring 2021. Z5b cane hardy from prior experience in another garden in my teen years (early to mid -2k's). Black spot will happen but it doesn't matter. This guy can be a monster. My old one topped beyond 10' then started arching everywhere. Needs vigorous pruning. Will repeat acceptably. No powdery mildew or rust here. Extraordinary scent and tea rose form. A treat in my cold climate garden. Can be trained as climber, but watch out! Z5b/Sunset 41 South Central Michigan
