As own root, Abraham Darby is less vigorous and more prone to blackspots & sawfly hole than Evelyn. It's in only 3 hours of evening sun and I water it once a month (drought tolerant). Rabbits eat Abraham so I have to cage it. Abraham's scent is sharp grapefruit & melon and becomes stinky if aged in the vase. Blooms don't last long in the vase like Evelyn. Blooms have weaker and shorter neck than Evelyn. Abe's oldest thorns are brown and hooked (versus straighter and reddish thorns on Evelyn). Abe's blooms are deeper cup with more crinkled petals than Evelyn.
