Aloha is a heavy bloomer and very disease resistant. The rose behind Aloha is Gertrude Jekyll. To prune both varieties one must keep two things in mind. Do not take out too much of Aloha, and whap off half of Gertrude. This more or less keeps the two roses the same shrub size. Otherwise, Gertrude will grow to a monsterous proportions and leaving the slower growing Aloha a midget.
