I have wanted to meet this rose since 1989 and now that I have it (in a pot initially to avoid the nematodes here) I dearly hope it thrives in Tampa. I am not holding my breath since it is considered a seedling of 'General Jacqueminot' though oddly being classed as a China. The General was a weed for me in Denver while THREE have died here and I have heard of no rosarians in Florida growing it. Oddly, the scent was largely Tea at first and only later developed some Damask tones. I love how it echoes the sensusous slutty sultry tones of 'Oklahoma' while being even darker!
