I am trying to locate a Whisky Mac TANky variety but none of the listed nursuries are comming up with anything. Do you have and resources for this rose? We had to leave our behind in Florida.

I got a baby own root plant from Vintage last year. They no longer have it for sale and they are not going to be selling any roses after March of this year. Other nurseries have had this rose but I do not see it for sale at any of them at this time. I will keep my eyes open for this rose and let you know if I find it for sale.

Thank you for your response. Another HMF participant actually did find a bare root of this being sold on Ebay of all places (never thought to check there fore this rare rose) and I managed to buy one. The original I am trying to replace the which we loved so much was a birthday present for my wife that we had to leave behind in Florida so it really has sentimental value for us as well as being a visually and aeromatically pleasing specimin.

If you still grow Germiston Gold, would you be interested in taking and rooting cuttings for me? I will pay for each rooted cutting and also pay for shipping. Thank you. Margaret

I still grow Germiston Gold --- But I usually take cuttings in November and December and just let Mother Nature provide the misting (fog) and the watering (rain). Usually I get about a 90% success rate, but last year was a drought year and I got one own root to grow from about 60+ that I started. This year has started out dryer than last year so I haven't even tried to grow any baby roses this year. If we start getting rain + fog, I will try to root some babies for you----but it may be too late already. The weather has been weird for the last couple of years.

Hello:
I'm new a answering thing on the Help Me Find member reply so please forgive me if I've already send you this message. I'll wait till next year (2014) for any cuttings. How fragrant is Germiston Gold? Is the fragrance like Oklahoma and Mr. Lincoln? Is Germiston Gold a pretty dark golden color or just a dark yellow? Thank you. Margaret
