Mr. Ramirez, on your photo of Secret Garden Musk Climber, will the rose naturally form a mound if left unpruned, or is pruning necessary to keep it in shrub form?

Yes, Secret Garden Musk naturally forms a mound. And I've seen it prunned at least once. But I have a feeling that, when left unprunned, it will look good nonetheless.

It's a real beauty with a very good fragrance.

Can this grow as a free-standing shrub, or does it need support? I live in zone 6B but will grow it sheltered near our brick house. Thanks!

Yes, you can grow this as a free-standing rose. Like most teas it will tend to grow up and then over, like a fountain. You can peg the ends of the canes so you can get even more growth off the whole cane.

Like most Hybrid Musks,Thisbe can grow to 6 feet and then bend over at the top.

Thank you! My other HyMusk (Ballerina) is much shorter-growing so I'll be prepared for this one to be tall.

I'm thinking of planting one next to the sidewalk in front of our house (back about 3' from the pavement). I'm wanting it to make a nice tall screen. What do you think?

I think that after a few years, your visitors will be clasped in a thorny embrace.
