Alfred Parson's portrait of Fortune's Double Yellow that was reproduced in Ellen Willmott's 'The Genus Rosa'.
The one on the left is a photo from an old copy of 'The Genus Rosa' in the possession of The University of Western Australia Library.
The one on the right is from Graham Stuart Thomas' 'A Garden of Roses'. GST said this was a truer reproduction of Parson's original painting as, unfortunately, the colours in Parsons' original watercolours were not accurately reproduced in 'The Genus Rosa'. He said: "yellow pervaded to excess all tints of flower and leaf" in 'The Genus Rosa'.
