No blackspot here. This was my first rose and I completely lucked out! It's got the most wonderful, fruity smell, blooms like crazy, and has reddish buds that erupt into coral blooms that fade to shades of peach and yellow. It's a gorgeous rose.

Completely defoliated in summer of 2011 after years of little blackspot. I shovel pruned it as it appears vertical disease resistance has broken down. Zone 6 NJ Same for Westerland.

AUTUMN SUNSET is at Home Depot for $16.97 us and is listed at a Climber rose. It appears healthy, but has NO buds as of Nov 17, 2008.

In my opinion, the condition of a rose in a big box store at the end of the season is not predictive of the condition of the same rose in the care of a capable gardener. In fact, my Autumn Sunset is blooming right now in Sonoma County, California.
