If 'Kirsten Poulsen' is desired as a companion to 'Else Poulsen', the form called 'Kirsten Poulsen Improved' should be obtained. It is a greatly improved colour to that of the original form, and in my garden has been even more continuously in flower.

p88 The Rose Analysis, 1942. it will be seen that 'Kirsten Poulsen' has disappeared from the Tables and a new sport, 'Kirsten Poulsen Improved', taken her place. The latter is similar in habit to the older variety, but the colour is a very bright red. It entirely supersedes 'Kirsten', and out of regard for the late S. Poulsen I would suggest that the older variety is withdrawn from cultivation and the world "Improved' dropped from the newer variety. it would be a graceful act, especially as I know the late S. Poulsen's feelings over the name.
