(6 of 6) The epithet, rupincola, chosen by the Russian botanist F.E.L. von Fischer is difficult to define. Perhaps "rupicola" was meant, meaning "of hills", since the species comes from mountains. The botanist Thory wrote myriacantha was also indigenous to dry stony places. My plant came from the U.C. Berkeley Botanic Garden. Photographed May 13, 2019 at "Rose Woods".
