Same plant, after 7 weeks in the ground. Plenty of new growth, and it has suddenly decided it wants to flower in a big way. The huge number of buds developed over the course of 2 or 3 days. Am not going to disbud it, since it seems like such a strong plant.
The new growth is living up to T4R's claim of thornless. It's looking like this is another rose which will get thorny towards the base on older wood, but is effectively thornless out where people are likely to bump into it. A handy trait.
