This flower looks hand painted with brush strokes of cream and yellow creating a five pointed starburst on a deep rose background. Way back in 1991, Miriam Wilkins gave it to me under the name ‘Mary Queen of Scots’. Miriam imported a lot of roses but I believe this beauty is the hybrid spinosissima ‘Glory of Edzell’. Photographed April 20, 2017 at Rose Woods in the Mayacmas Mtns. near Petrified Forest, California.
