Two Trial Ground Certificates were awarded to seedlings which were particularly outstanding in the second year trial.  1721-87 (T.G. 1222) a pink semi-double Ground Cover Shrub with short spreading shiny foliage raised in Germany by Werner Noack.

The Gold Medal, together with the President's International Trophy, was awarded to Werner Noack from Germany with an outstandingly floriferous vibrant pink Shrub 1721-87 (T.G. 1222) with a spreading habit. in my opinion this variety had been way anead of all the other two hundred plus seedlings in the Third year of Trial and thoroughly deserved to triumph. Unfortunately its parentage, like many others, was not disclosed
