'Star 2000' rose Description

Orange or orange-red Hybrid Tea. Registration name: PEKcoucan
Bloom:
Orange or orange-red. 33 to 43 petals. Full (26-40 petals), borne mostly solitary, classic hybrid tea, high-centered to flat bloom form. Blooms in flushes throughout the season. Ovoid buds.
Habit:
Armed with thorns / prickles, upright. Semi-glossy, leathery foliage. 3 to 7 leaflets.
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default). Can be used for cut flower or exhibition.

Notes:
Meg Peterson saw 'Star 2000' at the ARS National in Houston. The color was fantastic. The color in her photo is a bit washed out due to close up photography with an indoor flash. But what a rose! No wonder people are talking about it! Someone else describes the color as like that of a near-ripe tomato.
