Introduced in United States by Jackson & Perkins Co. (Newark, NY) in 1939 as 'Zulu Queen'.

Hybrid Tea.  
Bloom:
Dark red, brown shading.  Strong fragrance.  Large, double (17-25 petals), borne mostly solitary, high-centered bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  
Habit:
Upright, well-branched.  
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).  Vigorous.
