Bred by Samuel Darragh (1932-2019) McGredy IV (1982).
Introduced in New Zealand by McGredy Roses International (New Zealand) as 'Papageno'.
Introduced in Germany by Rosen-Union e.G. in 1989 as 'Papageno'.
Class:
Hybrid Tea.  
Bloom:
Rose-red, cream or off-white streaks, stripes, flecks.  Mild fragrance.  Large, double (17-25 petals) bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  
Habit:
Tall, bushy, upright.  Large, matte foliage.  

Height: up to 4' (up to 120cm).  
Growing:
USDA zone 7b and warmer.  Can be used for cut flower or garden.  Vigorous.  a good subject for pegging.  Spring Pruning: Remove old canes and dead or diseased wood and cut back canes that cross. In warmer climates, cut back the remaining canes by about one-third. In colder areas, you'll probably find you'll have to prune a little more than that.  Requires spring freeze protection (see glossary - Spring freeze protection) .
