Arvid`s garden, Lista. the 1st of August 2011. The deep pink rose top left is the climber "Laguna" Other roses seen are "Lykkefund", "Aloha", "Etude", "Mme Plantier" and "Purity". Clematises in photo are "Mrs Cholmondeley" and "Rouge Cardinal". The top of the aluminium arche is still bare, but I believe the recently planted Wild Honeysuckle will be able to deal with that shortly.

.Arvid`s garden, Lista, southwestern coast of Norway. Photo taken on the 7th of July 2008. Even though almost two years have passed since this photo was taken, the top of the aluminium arche is still bare. The reason for this being the strong salty western winds which have a nasty habit of finding their way right on to this arche. The fence is not tall enough to stop them. I had a big wild cherry tree here that helped a lot, but unfortunately it had to be cut down. I have planted a new one and a few elders. Time will show. In the meantime I have given up on some of the roses here and planted a local wild honeysuckle as an "infill". Roses in photo are "Honorine de Brabant (to the left of the arche) with some flowers of the clematis "Mrs Cholmondeley", "Lykkefund" (scrambling up the appletree), "Mme Plantier" (white rose on the arche) with a few flowers of "Etude". "American Pillar" and "Sander`s White Rambler" are covering my gazebo in the background. A bit of "Paul`s Himalayan Musk" may be seen on the archeway top left. The red gable belongs to my neighbour`s garage.
