Origin:
Discovered by Unknown American origin (United States).
Introduced in United Kingdom by Guernsey Clematis Nursery in circa 1980 as 'Prince Philip'.
Class:
Early Large Flowered.  
Bloom:
Rose-red, darker center.  7 to 8 petals.  Average diameter 6".  Single, crimped edge bloom form.  Late spring to early summer, late summer.  
Habit:

Height: 8' to 10' (245 to 305cm).  
Growing:
USDA zone 4b through 9b.  Plant in sun or partial shade.  It blooms on the previous year's growth, so resist the urge to prune it in early spring.
