Origin:
Bred by Joe Cartman (New Zealand, before 1983).
Introduced in United Kingdom by Taylors Clematis in 1983 as 'C. cartmanii 'Joe''.
Class:
Early Small Flowered, Evergreen, Group 1.  
Bloom:
White, cream anthers.  5 to 6 petals.  Average diameter 1.5".  Small, single, clusters, semi-nodding bloom form.  Early-to-midspring.  
Habit:

Height: 6½' (200cm).  
Growing:
USDA zone 7b through 9b.  Plant in sun to encourage flowering.  Suitable for growing in a container.  No pruning required.
