Origin:
Introduced in United Kingdom by Fisk's Clematis Nursery in 1975 as 'Ruby Glow'.
Class:
Early Large Flowered, Group 2.  
Bloom:
Red to pink, dark red anthers.  6 to 8 petals.  Average diameter 6".  Late spring to early autumn, early summer to early autumn.  
Habit:

Height: 8' to 12' (245 to 365cm).  
Growing:
USDA zone 4b through 9b.  Plant in sun or partial shade.  Suitable for growing in a container.  It blooms on the previous year's growth, so resist the urge to prune it in early spring.
