Origin:
Bred by Mogens Nyegaard Olesen (Denmark, 1998). Bred by Raymond J. Evison (United Kingdom, 1998).
Introduced in Denmark by Poulsen Roser A/S in 2012 as 'Alaina'.
Class:
Early Large Flowered, Group 2.  
Bloom:
Deep pink, darker stripes, ages to lighter .  up to 6 petals.  Average diameter 6.5".  Large, single bloom form.  Late spring to early summer, late summer to early autumn.  
Habit:

Height: 8'4" to 12½' (255 to 380cm).

The present invention constitutes a new and distinct variety of Clematis plant which originated from a controlled crossing between the female seed parent, an un-named seedling, and the male pollen parent, an un-named seedling.
The two parents were crossed during the summer of 1998 and the resulting seeds were planted the following winter in a controlled environment in Guernsey, Channel Islands, United Kingdom
