Dear Dave & Deb
I have just sent you a query regarding Niobe and am now check photos of Warsaw Nike, a plant I am also considering. Could you tell me which you prefer out of the two and how long you have been growing Warsaw Nike to have the production you are showing in the photo. It looks a magnificent bloom, so rich in colour and quite large.
Thanks again.

Our Warsaw Nike was planted in 2005. It has been slow to get established. Instead of the usual 1st year sleep, 2nd year creep and third year leap... Warsaw Nike slept the first 2 years, had 2 years creeping and has finally become pretty nice. We like it but we are very patient with clematis (and roses). My favorite clematis took 7 years before it became a killer (Gillian Blades). I actually like it before clematis become monsters and start trying to shade the roses. They become much more work then.

is an album with all our clematis. There are subalbums in the back pages for each clematis.
Good luck, Dave

Thank you so much - your comments have helped me understand the plant a lot better and know I need to have patients. I have been very pleased with the clematis I already have and now that I have no more room for roses (I have 125 on the property), I thought I could use clematis to add a bit more show.
Kind regards, Alana
