Madame de Montespan (synonym of Grafin Diana Rose) was the favorite mistress of Louis XIV .... Do you think there might be a link between the two roses?

So I finally got to see this rose at Washington Park in full bloom. My original analysis was right. The plant is super awkward. Irregular shape and linear. I disliked the plant a lot.

The flowers are very nice, and they are both bright (violet tones) and dark (crimsoned-purple) at the same time.

Thank you so much for your honest input. That's my first impression looking at the pics. of Dark Desire, it doesn't have "bush-beauty" like my experience with Firefighter as own-root.
