MHR is a family owned small retail nursery in Northern California. We grow our old garden roses on their own roots which encourages a plant that lives a longer, healthier life that is more resistant to disease and pests. Our roses are grown in 2 gallon containers to assure a big healthy plant ready to be put into the ground upon arrival. Because our nursery is small we offer a rotating variety of roses with availability changing month to month. We also custom root roses upon request for a small fee. MHR also has a variety of hardy perrenials that encourage friendly beneficial insects to live comfortably in the garden providing a healthy environment.The Demonstration Garden is open by appointment at this time. Come visit us at MHR and watch the garden grow and view the roses in their natural growth habits. Heirloom Roses are a wonderful addition to any garden, as they are truely a no nonsence easy to grow garden plant, unlike the modern roses that require so much more care and attention. Old roses need only light deadwood pruning to keep them happy. Their is so much history and interest to be gained by collecting old garden roses from the days of yore.
