Andrew Van Cleve, the owner of "Azalea House Flowering Shrub Farm" of Voorheesville, NY, passed away from leukemia in August 2017. His business listing under Google search highlights "permanently closed". I would like to know if anyone saved his legacy of rare cold hardy OGRs.

Each year Azalea House Flowering Shrub Farm purchases 20 new varieties (5 of each variety guarenteed virus free) of old rose, rugosa rose or disease resistant rose and uses them as a source of cuttings. The rooted cuttings are grown over time into gradually larger pots to be sold retail during their retail sale May 15 to July 4; 10 AM-2 PM. Plants not sold are cut back in July when cuttings are taken from only the healthiest foliage in the hope that the successive generations of roses will become more disease resistant through sports. As of 2007 they are propagating from126 varieties of rose. Go to the home page at www.floweringshrubfarm.com and click on any page that talks about the plant sale. Scroll down to find a list of those varieties they are considering purchasing. Email your request if there is a variety you would like them to consider.
