Lambert & Reiter was established 1860 by Jean Lambert (father of Peter Lambert), his brother Nicolaus and the nurseryman Reiter. The nursery evolved from 2 hectares in 1860 to 60 hectares in 1887. Peter Lambert's first cultivars were introduced by his father's nursery.
