Notes:
Ashdown Roses says the introducer is Sprunt in 1837. Pépinières Loubert says the breeder is Coquerel. It is possible that several different roses were called 'L'Eblouissante'. 'La Gauffré' = l'Eblouissant' is possibly a different rose than 'Cramoisi supérieur'. The Cels catalogue of 1836/37 list 'l'Eblouissant' for 1 franc, while 'Cramoisi supérieur' is priced at 5 francs, indicating that the latter was a very recent introduction (1835 or 36). an 1843 catalogue lists two distinct roses for 'Agrippina' and 'Cramoisi superieure'.
