Origin:
Bred by Marie-Louise (Louisette) Meilland (Paolino) (1920-1987) (France, before 1987). Bred by Jacques Mouchotte (France, before 1987).
Introduced in United States by Conard-Pyle (Star Roses) in 1989 as 'Sweet Symphony'.
Class:
Miniature, Patio.  
Bloom:
Pink, red edges, white reverse.  None / no fragrance.  15 to 20 petals.  Average diameter 1.75".  Large, double (17-25 petals), borne mostly solitary, cluster-flowered, in small clusters, cupped bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  
Habit:
Medium, bushy, few or no prickles/thorns.  Medium, semi-glossy, dark green foliage.  

Height: 18" to 2' (45 to 60cm).  
Growing:
USDA zone 6b and warmer.  Can be used for beds and borders, container rose, cut flower or garden.  Disease susceptibility: very disease resistant.  Spring Pruning: Remove old canes and dead or diseased wood and cut back canes that cross. In warmer climates, cut back the remaining canes by about one-third. In colder areas, you'll probably find you'll have to prune a little more than that.  Requires spring freeze protection (see glossary - Spring freeze protection) .  Can be grown in the ground or in a container (container requires winter protection).

In 1978, M. Mouchotte was promoted in charge of Meilland's Hybrid Tea, Floribunda and Climbing rose breeding programs. Some of his better known varieties are 'Bonica', 'Debut', 'Carefree Wonder', and 'Carefree Delight'. His more recent achievement has been hybridizing the beautiful Romantica Series of roses which is receiving world-wide acclaim.
