Bred by Jacques-Louis Descemet (France, before 1815).
Introduced in Australia by Tasmania Botanical Gardens in 1862 as 'Dorothée'.

Cerise to deep pink. [Carmine-red.] Medium, double (17-25 petals) bloom form.

USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).
