Origin:
Bred by Peter Lambert (Germany, 1909).
Introduced in Australia by Hazlewood Bros. Pty. Ltd. in 1911 as 'Excellenz von Schubert'.
Class:
Climber, Hybrid Musk, Lambertiana, Polyantha, Polyantha, Cl..  
Bloom:
Carmine-pink.  Strong fragrance.  Small to medium, full (26-40 petals), cluster-flowered, in large clusters bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  
Habit:
Medium, armed with thorns / prickles, bushy, climbing, upright.  Dark green, dense foliage.  

Height: up to 5' (up to 150cm).  Width: up to 5' (up to 150cm).
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).  Can be used for garden, hedge or pillar.  Vigorous.  Prune lightly or not at all.

Patent status unknown (to HelpMeFind).
Notes:
Arena Rose Co.'s Catalog 2000 says Excellenz von Schubert (Hybrid Musk) produces large clusters of lilac-pink pompons on long, arching canes... it is perhaps the best of the Lambertiana Roses -- a precursor to the Hybrid Musk class...
