Origin:

Bred by Alfred Crace Calvert (France, before 1829).
Introduced in France by Jean-Pierre Vibert in before 1837 as 'Rose de Trianon'.

Class:

Damask Perpetual.

Bloom:

Light pink, ages to white. Moderate fragrance. Average diameter 2". Medium, very double, in large clusters, cupped-to-flat bloom form. Spring or summer flush with scattered later bloom.

Habit:

Short.

Growing:

USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).

[Dickerson says it's probably extinct.]
Vibert states in 1846 that he found this rose in a disused garden belonging to an English nurseryman in Rouen. This points to Calvert as breeder. The later attribution to Prévost seems incorrect.
