I truly love this rose. The color is gorgeous and the scent is strong and citrusey. HOWEVER, it has not done well in my Maryland garden. It has been very prone to blackspot, has few flowers, and very little height.

Intrigue is what I call a thirsty rose. It never thrives unless it gets a lot of water. It becomes disease prone and week and doesn't seem to put any growth on, so unless you do a heavy watering with this rose regularly, it will not be at its best.
Good luck with your rose.
Smiles,
Lyn

If you like purple roses with a strong scent, may I suggest MELODY PERFUME. Just one of these will give enough scent to fill the entire bathroom! And it is quite a tall bush. I often pair it in a vase with FRENCH LACE, as the blooms are similar in shape.

I fell in love with this rose when I saw it! However, it has not done well in my sunny bed in Northern Virginia. Lots of leaf drop and few flowers. Watering more now....not much response yet. Planted in early July. Welcome any input

Intrigue is doing pretty good in South-Central Florida too.... but needs some shade. Desease resistant, adorable flowers with great fragrance.

The fragrance of this rose is wonderful. A very old rose scent with a touch of citrus to it. The colors are true to the description and although my rose is not very large, it always seems to have a bloom on it.
