Bred by Dr. Felicitas Svejda (Canada, before 1977).
Introduced in Canada by Agriculture Canada, Ottawa, Ontario (Central Experimental Farm) in 1977 as 'John Davis'.

Hybrid Kordesii.   (Series: Explorer Series Collection)  
Bloom:
Light pink to pink, yellow stamens.  Spice fragrance.  40 petals.  Average diameter 3.5".  Medium, full (26-40 petals), cluster-flowered bloom form.  Occasional repeat later in the season.  
Habit:
Arching, armed with thorns / prickles.  Glossy, dark green foliage.  

Height: 7' (215cm).  
Growing:
USDA zone 2b and warmer.  Very hardy.  benefits from winter protection in colder climates.  can be trained as a climber.  Disease susceptibility: susceptible to disease.
