Noisette.
Madame Capucine...  rich coppery orange, fine bud...
Book  (1895)  Page(s) 714.

Ma Capucine concentrates all its charms in a bud of fine form. When fully open it is little more than a single Rose, but in the early days of the Rose season, long before the double kinds have perfected their buds, it is charming colour, deep orange-yellow, with red sufficient to make the flower bright. It is a dwarf grower, but the smallest bushes flower freely.

Tea and Hybrid Tea Varieties.

Teas and Noisettes.
Ma Capucine (Levet, 1871). — Another weakly growing button-hole Tea Rose, most charming in colour. The buds are quite small, and not particularly long or pointed, but sure to attract notice. These Roses should all be grown, as standards, by any one who makes a specialty or collection of Bud-Roses, but as there is a sufficiency of strong-growing free-flowering button-hole varieties, such weakly growers should generally be avoided.
Website/Catalog  (1893)  Page(s) 31.

Messrs. Brunning and Sons have flowered several new roses during the present season, among which are many that will take a position along with the best of the older varieties.....Ma Capucine, bronze yellow; small but very pretty; the best of all for cut buds.
Book  (1891)  Page(s) 186.

Ma Capucine is a small-growing Rose, of somewhat similar shades of colour [to Mme Eugene Verdier]; indeed, in the bud, the shades of colour are unsurpassed by any other; but, unfortunately, it does not retain its lovely apricot tints for any length of time.
