Introduced in France by Pernet-Ducher, Joseph in 1907 as 'Laurent Carle'.
Introduced in Australia by Arthur Yates & Co. Ltd. in 1908 as 'Laurent Carle'.
Class:
Found Rose, Hybrid Tea.  
Bloom:
Carmine-red.  Crimson-carmine. Sets hips..  Strong, centifolia, damask, old rose fragrance.  Very large, double (17-25 petals), borne mostly solitary, open bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  Long buds.  
Habit:
Short, bushy, spreading, upright.  Glossy, dark green foliage.  
Growing:
USDA zone 7b and warmer.  Spring Pruning: Remove old canes and dead or diseased wood and cut back canes that cross. In warmer climates, cut back the remaining canes by about one-third. In colder areas, you'll probably find you'll have to prune a little more than that.  Requires spring freeze protection (see glossary - Spring freeze protection) .
