Bred by André Delbard-Chabert (1915-2012) (France, before 1961).
Introduced in France by Delbard/Georges Delbard SA in 1961 as 'Phare'.
Class:
Climber, Large-Flowered Climber.  
Bloom:
Orange-red.  Bright orange-red.  30 to 35 petals.  Average diameter 3".  Medium, full (26-40 petals), cluster-flowered bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  
Habit:
Tall, climbing.  Glossy, dark green foliage.  

Height: 8'2" to 9'10" (250 to 300cm).  
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).  Can be used for cut flower, garden or pillar.  Vigorous.  produces decorative hips.  Protect tender new spring growth from hard freezes that may cause canker, die-back and death of the plant. .  Remove spent blooms to encourage re-bloom.  Remove old canes and dead or diseased wood..  Prune lightly until this rose gets established (about two years), then prune it back by about a third..
