Hybrid Perpetuals
Comte de Raimbaud (Roland, 1867). — Of good average growth and foliage, and clean handsome wood. Not particularly subject to fungoid pests or to injury from rain. A fairly reliable semi-imbricated crimson Rose, which appears to be growing in favour, and seems to be considerably more appreciated now than it was ten years ago. This is unusual, but there is evidence that some Roses do improve as they grow older while others deteriorate.
Magazine  (1893)  Page(s) 170.

Comte de Raimbaud, sent out by Roland in 1867, was the silver medal H. Perpetual Rose among the amateurs at Chester. This Rose is very seldom seen in such perfection as here shown by the Rev. J. H. Pemberton, and is, in fact, not often met with in the winning stands at shows of note and excellence as those of the National Rose society. It is a very bright carmine-cerise in colour, of good shape, and the medal Rose was wonderfully full and fine.

The New Roses of 1867 by William Paul.
Comte Raimbaud (H.P) was very beautiful, although perhaps it will scarcely satisfy those who insist on a rose being quite full; the flowers are dark carmine-cerise, exceedingly brilliant, of large size, and fine outline. It appears hardy, vigorous, and free.
Magazine  (1869)  Page(s) 155.
