Bloom:
Light pink.  Mild fragrance.  Average diameter 5".  Single to semi-double bloom form.  Once-blooming spring or summer.  
Habit:

Height: up to 8' (up to 245cm).  Width: up to 6' (up to 185cm).
Growing:
USDA zone 5b through 10b.  Can be used for garden or pillar.  Can be trained as a climber.  Do not dead head.  Prune lightly until this rose gets established (about two years), then prune it back by about a third..

Notes:
The Plant Science Dept. of the Nova Scotia Agriculture College evaluated 58 English Roses to assess their hardiness and disease-resistance. Their results can be found at: http://www.nsac.ns.ca/nsac/ps/annual96/mapple.htm. Shropshire Lass was found to be winter hardy.


Trinity Farms lists this rose under the Albas and describe it by saying that it has pale blush-white single blooms in spring, followed by splendid hips. It makes a huge arching shrub of great quality.
