Bred by Pierre Oger (France, 1879).
Introduced in Australia by C. F. Newman and Sons - Adelaide in 1894 as 'Jean Lelièvre'.

Bloom:
Crimson, ages to brown .  Moderate fragrance.  Large, full (26-40 petals) bloom form.  Occasional repeat later in the season.  
Habit:

Height: up to 39" (up to 100cm).  
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).  Can be trained as a climber.
