Bred by Louis Lévêque fils (France, 1884).
Introduced in Australia by C. F. Newman and Sons - Adelaide in 1894 as 'Laurent de Rillé'.

Bloom:
Cherry-red, ages to cream .  Moderate fragrance.  Large, double (17-25 petals), nodding or "weak neck", scalloped bloom form.  Occasional repeat later in the season.  
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).
